Nonprofit Consulting – 2008-Present
I started a nonprofit consultancy to work with local and regional nonprofits in Central Illinois to help them use the web and social media more effectively. These projects are representative of that work.
University of Illinois Libraries – Government Information Virtual Library – 2012
My primary project as the Government Information graduate assistant at University of Illinois Libraries was a complete redo of the layout and architecture for the Government Information Virtual Library, as well as a new social media strategy for promoting it.
WILL AM/FM/TV UX Redesign Project – 2011
This team User Experience redesign project was the final for my Interfaces to Information Systems class at GSLIS. It was done in partnership with WILL AM/FM/TV, the local NPR and PBS affiliate.
Evernote Usability Engineering Lifecycle Project – 2011
This User Experience design project was the individual capstone for my Interfaces to Information Systems class at GSLIS. It simulated portions of a full iterative design process as outlined in Jakob Nielsen’s “Usability Engineering”.
Online Engagement Plan for CUCitizenAccess – 2011
This project is an online community engagement analysis and plan for CU-Citizen-Access, and was was created as part of the Summer 2011 Community Informatics Studio class at GSLIS.
Prairienet – 2010-2012
Prairienet is a collaborative digital platform to facilitate, document, and archive community engagement projects both at GSLIS and at UIUC more broadly.

A regional social networking site and knowledge base designed to foster collaboration and exchange within the nonprofit community in downstate Illinois.
